Delphine Gardere grew up in Haiti and gained significant international experience before joining the historic family-owned Rhum Barbancourt. She pursued a Business degree at INSEEC School in France then attended Emory University in the United States. She held positions in London as a Stock
Analyst in the pharmaceuticals industry and investment banking. In 2010, Delphine earned a Master’s degree in Strategic Marketing from Cranfield School of Management in the UK.
While Rhum Barbancourt recovered from the devastating earthquake of 2010, Delphine gained valuable experience in the luxury goods industry at Dior Parfums and Hermes Fragrances, performing operational marketing for significant markets such as the UK, Ireland and France. Upon her father’s passing, Delphine returned to Haiti and at just 36 years old became CEO of Societe du Rhum Barbancourt. She is defining a new vision for the company and expanding distribution and export markets globally.
Since 2020, Delphine has expanded the Fondation Barbancourt’s offering with a safe community space around the distillery, to the creation of a medical center, and many more initiatives in health, education and promoting Haitian culture. On March 11th, 2023 the Barbancourt Foundation in partnership with
James Harden’s “Impact Thirteen” foundation inaugurated a new playground for the children of the different communities that reside near the Barbancourt distillery. Delphine is also a board member of the West Indies Rum and Spirits Producers Association and AVD Embouteillage, a joint venture between Rhum Barbancourt and Vinicola del Norte.
Delphine Gardere lives in Port-au-Prince and is a mother of two and is a proud Advisory Board Member of the Haitian Women’s Alliance.
